As England’s oldest gin distillers, we know a drop of greatness can go a long way

It takes 4X less water to produce, is 5X lighter and the carbon footprint is 6X lower. That adds up to a lot less impact on the planet. We’ve not touched a drop on the inside, that’s still 100% Greenall’s.
So, with each refreshing sip of a G&T, you’re not only tasting something good, you’re also doing something good. Like our founder Thomas Dakin, we make a difference where it matters.
Greener, greater, Greenall’s: as pioneering as it’s always been.
Let’s raise a Greenall’s G&T to a greener future.
It’s the little things that can make a big difference to the planet
Is the eco-bottle 100% recyclable?
Yes, it is. The eco-bottle includes a recyclable plastic liner, which can be easily removed from the paper so the paper bottle can be discarded in your recycling bin at home. The plastic liner can then be recycled at supermarkets, grocery stores, and plastic recycling centres but cannot currently be recycled in household recycling bins.
What is the shelf life of Greenall’s eco-bottle?
The new bottle doesn’t impact the product shelf life or quality of the liquid.
Where can I buy the Greenall’s eco-bottle?
Available in France, coming to the US soon.
How much carbon saving do you envisage this eco-bottle bringing for Greenall’s?
With Greenall’s new eco-bottle having a carbon footprint up to 6 times lower (84%) than our glass bottle, we envisage the carbon saving per bottle to be approximately 466g of CO2e. To put this into perspective, this means that if 10 million of our new paper bottles were used in place of our old glass bottle, the carbon saving would equate to 4,663 tons of CO2, which is the equivalent of 10,498,311 miles driven by an average passenger vehicle, 716 homes’ electricity use for one year, 539,565,767 smartphones charged, the equivalent of CO2 sequestered from 5,525 acres of forests
What if someone was to put the entire eco-bottle (paper and plastic liner) in their paper recycling bin at home?
If someone was to put the entire bottle, plastic liner included, into the paper waste stream, then the bottle will breakdown in the pulping process and the liner will detach easily. It will then be removed along with the other inclusions in the process. This again can be collected and recycled if an infrastructure exists.
Will the full Greenall’s range be available in the new eco-bottle?
Currently only Greenall’s Original London Dry Gin is in the eco-bottle format in a standard 70cl size.
Take advantage of your seasonal larder for delicious garnishes with low food miles. Enhance the natural flavours in Greenall’s gin with two lime slices first and foremost, but if you’re feeling a bit fancy, blackberries and elderflower in summer and rosemary or thyme in winter.
Next time you’re cooking with lemons or lime, peel the rind before you juice. Use these zesty strips to brighten the flavour and colour in your G&T.
Dehydrating fruit means you’ll always have a garnish to hand, and it’s a great way to preserve ripe fruit. Simply bake sliced citrus or apples on a low heat and enjoy the scent in your home.
Never run out of ice again! Freeze wedges of lime, orange or lemon so they double as an ice-cube and flavour infusion.
